It was an eventful start to another week at Earls Hall! The day saw Mr Gheorge and Mr Town working downstairs, dismantling the temporary walls which created our ‘Nightingale’ classrooms last year in the downstairs hall. Last year , when the bubbles of children in school were restricted to just fifteen, we needed as many learning spaces as possible and as a result of the walls we were able to create three spaces out of the hall and therefore welcome forty five children into school. Thankfully we are now in a better position with regards to the virus and so their sturdy work was carefully taken down and packed away. It is so lovely to have the hall back!

Meanwhile, despite the ever changing weather conditions, there was plenty of activity out on the field. The children in Kestrels took part in a an athletics lesson where they developed their sprinting and jumping whilst, out on the playground, the children in 6C enjoyed the first of their ‘Bikeability’ sessions. The children shared their current level of cycling in order to identify who would be practising their skill on the playground and who may be taking to the surrounding roads. In the two wooded areas at the front and back of the school, the children in the Foundation Stage enjoyed their Forest Friends sessions where they explored the woods, made daisy chains and created their own nests and dens.

Over in the pool, Mr Knight taught Foxes and Elm swimming sessions whilst the children in Sycamore investigated Ramadan and Eid and the children in Owls created their own nautical printing tiles out of cardboard.
