It was an exciting day for a group of children in Year Six today as a team of our boys represented the school in a friendly set of matches with our friends at Chalkwell Hall Junior school. The boys, coached by Mr Martin, took to the pitch and gave their all in two matches where their team work skills were on show throughout. There were some smashing goals and super saves and, despite the boys losing 6-4 and 2-0, they all had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Well done boys, we are proud of you!

Meanwhile, upstairs in Year Five there was still lots of Greek themed activity. The children worked in groups in order to plan which vocabulary they would use to describe the settings for their myths and then in the afternoon they continued to create their Greek papier mache pots.

Down the corridor, in Kestrels, the children became archeologists for the afternoon. Working in groups, the children dusted and dug through the sand and soon discovered various items from the past hidden in the trays. They used tools and made notes on each item they found including its features, the time they thought it was from and made sketches of the objects.

Outside on the playground, the children in 6M developed their netball skills whilst, inside, last weeks ‘Learning Ambassadors’ met with Mrs Eshmade, our Vice Chair of the governing body, where they discussed all of the learning which had been taking place across the school.
