It was beginning to look a little Christmassy at Earls Hall today. There was much excitement on the playground as Mr Gheorge and Mr Town took delivery of our Christmas trees which have been kindly donated once again by our ever supportive PTA. Thanks to Mrs Frost and Mrs jones for taking the time to choose them for us. The trees will be decorated tomorrow and positioned so that all of the children will get to see them on a regular basis over the next few weeks.

Meanwhile, in Year Two, the children began rehearsing for their Christmas video. It’s all a bit hush hush as to what the children will be doing at this point but needless to say a great time was had by all.

Out in the Forest Friends area the children in Robins spent their session investigating the woods and foraging for natural items which resembled graphemes and numbers. They built simple number sentences with the items, such as twigs and leaves, and identified words which began with the graphemes they collected.

Upstairs, in Willow, the children became composers for the afternoon. They worked in pairs to compose space soundtracks using the glockenspiels and a range of percussion instruments and their beautiful compositions echoed down the corridor!

At the end of the day we were visited by Mrs Miller, one of our school governors, who came along to see the arrangements in place for collecting the children in a staggered fashion at the end of the day. Mrs Miller visited each of our gates and spoke to some of the parents about how they are finding the arrangements.
