The upstairs hall was alive with the sound of music this morning as proud parents and other family members gathered to share the host of musical talent we have in school.
Our latest ‘Music Review’ saw the Year three & Four choir entertain the audience with a number of songs before Mr Thompson introduced a selection of his pianists as they played pieces one by one.
At the end of the assembly our timbrel group performed in unison as a great finale to a morning of smashing entertainment. Well done to all of the children who performed today, we are proud of you!
Later in the day the children in Hedgehogs and Dormice were the first classes to show their commitment to anti-bullying by tying their blue ribbons to the anti-bullying tree. As the morning progressed the children in Hedgehogs showed an interest in the frost and ice they had seen on the way to school and so they used the builders tray to explore melting ice.
In the afternoon there was more Science on show as the first group of children from Year Five worked with a group of pupils from Westcliff High School for Boys in order to undertake a series of KS3 experiments. Meanwhile, downstairs, Mr Banham from Southend High School for Boys visited the children as they read to a group of student volunteers from the sixth form.
