The week at Earls Hall continued to be a busy one! Thursday saw us hold two special ‘Attendance Assemblies’ where we celebrated children who had been at school for over 95% of the time throughout the Summer term, first for children in the Foundation Stage in the morning and then for Year One in the afternoon. The children were treated to a powerpoint display of their happy faces in school before being presented with certificates for their efforts. Children who had attended school for 100% of the year were presented with another special certificate and will be able to choose a book as a prize next week. This year the schools overall attendance is a fantastic 96.2%, thank you to everyone for their effort.

Later in the morning the children from Foundation Stage to Year Five spent time in the classrooms they will be learning in next year with their next teachers. The children took part in a series of activities where they got to know their new teachers and the teachers got to know them. There was a happy atmosphere across the school as the children looked forward to September and being in the next year group. New teachers Mr Cann and Mrs Stanford joined the team for the morning, as did returning teacher Mrs Barnes.

In the afternoon Mr Geach was a busy bee as he was joined by a group of children from across Year two who took part in the latest ‘AOK Club’ mission. The children used the special ‘AOK’ litter pickers to clear the surrounding roads of rubbish and were delighted to receive their special badges in recognition of their kindness back in school.

In the afternoon the upstairs hall was the setting for a music review where children shared their musical talents on either the guitar or the piano. Mr Brown and Mr Thompson, our guitar and piano teachers, introduced the children who then each performed a piece of music to the delight of their proud parents and other family members. The performances were brilliant and demonstrated how much progress the children had made throughout the year. Well done to everybody, we are proud of you.
