The spirit of team work was in the air this morning as nine of our girls played fantastic Netball under very challenging weather conditions. The girls drew their first match 0:0 and then won their 2nd match 0:1.  Although they lost the third game they came back to win the next 0:2. The final game before lunch was particularly difficult through a down pour of rain and gusty winds.  The afternoon was cancelled but is being rescheduled. They all enjoyed themselves and the team showed great team spirit and cooperation.

Back in school our trusty PTA once again did us proud by offering gifts for the children to purchase for their Mothers or other special ladies in their lives. Each class in turn had the opportunity to visit the community room to see what gifts were on offer.

The afternoon saw music echo down the upstairs corridor as the children in Elm took part in a recorder lesson. Mr Martin led the children through a rendition of ‘Mama Mia’ by ABBA, with the children playing a series of notes at key times in the piece.

In 6J the wartime spirit was evident as the children experienced the tastes of WWII! The children investigated biscuits made during the times of rationing including ones made with no sugar and even ones made using beetroot! They studied their appearance, texture and then tasted them to compare and rate them.

After school the downstairs hall played host to dodgeball club whilst upstairs a group was taking part in a ‘Steps Ahead’ session. The children performed a piece to Mr B which was phenomenal!  They are currently learning dances to music from Billy Elliot as well as other fantastic routines in preparation for a performance to their families. the group, which has been offering classes at Earls Hall for fifteen years, runs every Wednesday for children in Years Three to Six.
