Powerpoint Presentations & Pie!

It was another enjoyable lunchtime today as the children over in the dining hall were joined by Mr B and Mrs Cockett for lunch. Our new lunch arrangements mean that adults have the pleasure of inviting children to join them at the adult table and today two sets of children were chosen who had been displaying good manners whilst eating and being served. The children had a choice of delicious pie or jacket potatoes with the adults encouraging the children to eat the skins!

Later in the day the children in Sycamore used the internet to investigate China. They then used the facts they had discovered to create their own powerpoint presentations. Each presentation included a series of animated transitions and were pretty impressive!

Meanwhile, in 6C, the children studied the impact of music which accompanies film. The children watched a clip from the film Fantastia, first without the soundtrack and then with the music accompanying the animation; The Sorcerers Apprentice and then discussed how the music had been used to great effect and reflected the action on screen.

Next door, in 6S, the children investigated photographs from WWII and used them to create their own chronological timelines which they then presented to each other in pairs whilst in Elm the children created their own electrical circuits, inserting bulbs and motors which caused much excitement!
