Music and Meetings!

The start of a new week at Earls Hall was a busy one today! This morning the children’s playtime was interrupted by the arrival of an Essex Air Ambulance which landed on the school field in a bid to assist a local accident. The school council recently chose Essex Air Ambulance service as the chosen charity of the year for the school so the children were interested to see it in action. After it had landed the children left the playground in order to allow the ambulance workers the privacy to assist anyone who needed their service without prying eyes.

Meanwhile, back inside, Mrs Rick was joined by Mrs Miller who visited the school in her capacity as a school governor. Mrs Miller is responsible for monitoring health and safety procedures in school and so she spent time checking records of weekly fire alarm tests and termly fire evacuation records. Mrs Rick also spent time discussing our recent health and safety audit with Mrs Miller.

In the afternoon the children in Owls made beautiful music with the aid of a set of xylophones. The children enjoyed following musical notation in order to accompany a series of songs from the ‘Charanga’ interactive music resource.

In the upstairs office there was more governor action as Mr Stanton and Mrs Eshmade met with Mr B, Miss Ellacott and Mr Geach to discuss attainment and progress in each year group and how the school improvement plan supports the children to make as much pr schoologress as possible.

At the end of the afternoon representatives from Year Two and Year Six visited each class in turn to sell Remembrance poppies. The poppies will be available to buy each day throughout the week.

After school the field played host to our KS1 running club led by Mrs Smoothy whilst the upstairs hall was home to another dodgeball club led by Mr Smith.
