Marvellous Monday!

It was a busy and exciting start to another week at Earls Hall today. The morning saw us welcome our penultimate groups of Foundation Stage pupils into the classes who spent their time familiarising themselves with their new surroundings. They played alongside the rest of the children, visited the library and Mr B in his office, earning one of his special stickers for making such a positive start to their time with us.

The assemblies in the morning focused on one of our key qualities which make us the best people we can be. Today Mr B talked to the children about being honest. In the KS1 assembly the children helped him act out the story of ‘The Boy Who Cried Wolf’ and thought about how important it is to be thought of as an honest person rather than someone who tells lies. In the KS2 assembly Mr B reminded the children about the story and then the children identified possible consequences for being dishonest.

At lunchtime Mrs Creak and Mrs Ludlam enjoyed lunch at the centre table where they were joined by children who they had seen displaying excellent manners.

In the afternoon the children in Year Three studied aerial photographs, including ones of the school, and identified features whilst the children in 6MC took to their bicycles in order to take part in ‘Bikeability’ lessons.

The afternoon saw the children in Squirrels and Woodpeckers joined by Miss Drew and her therapy dog; Koda. Children took turns to join Koda and read to him, loving every minute of the experience!
