It was a special day in school today as we were visited by two Earls Hall legends for the afternoon, Mrs Costen and Mrs Santi, our former junior school Office and finance Managers.

The dynamic duo, who both retired in 2013, were invited into school by Mr B to see the recent refurbishments. Mr B gave the ladies, who both ranked up over twenty years of service at the school prior to retiring, a tour of the building which gave them the opportunity to catch up with all the latest school news and say hello to some of their former colleagues. Retirement certainly seems to suit both the ladies, although they received such a warm welcome they have both promised to visit again in the future.

Meanwhile, across the school, Beech class were learning how to tell the time as part of their weekly French lessons whilst 6C continued their work focused on WWII and the power of propaganda.

In Kestrels the children were being taught how to play a xylophone to hold a long and short note whilst in Owls the children recreated pictures in the style of Henri Matisse using paper collage techniques.

Willow children continued to develop their China presentations using ‘Powerpoint’, inserting text and pictures independently.

In the downstairs hall Mr smith continued to put the Year Six pupils through their paces as they undertook  speed bounce trials. The children jumped sideways over a hurdle as many times as they could for thrity seconds at a time in preparation for the up and coming inter-school athletics competition.

The morning saw the downstairs hall playing host to the terms first ‘Reading Champions’ assembly where children in Foundation Stage and KS1 were presented with their special badges in recognition of reading at home. At the end of the day the upstairs hall was used to give a presentation to Year Six parents about the Summers residential to Stratford Upon Avon.
