It was another day of parent partnership at Earls Hall today as the children in the Foundation Stage were joined by a host of family members all eager to find out more about how to support reading and writing at home. The children in Dormice, Hedgehogs and Robins dazzled their parents by taking part in two ‘Letters & Sounds’ sessions. They demonstrated how to segment and blend and identified a series of graphemes both with their teachers and as a child only group. It was lovely to see so many parents come along to share in the learning taking place. Thank you to everyone who gave up their time.
Later in the day the children in Owls took part in a Science investigation which saw them predict what would happen to a piece of paper when it was dipped, each end, in two different coloured dyes. The children then tested their prediction before writing up their findings.
At lunchtime Mr B was joined at the centre table by a group of children who he had witnessed displaying excellent manners in the Woodland Diner.
After school the downstairs hall played host to another session of our Karate where Mr England put the children through their paces, demonstrating a range of tricky moves. The hall was so silent as the children concentrated and their focus was astonishing.
