It may have been the end of a busy week but the pace of learning across the school was as busy as ever today.

Children in Year Six used their Science lesson to investigate evolution and inheritance by studying cross breeds. They identified various breeds of dogs and thought about what features a cross breed of two might have. They chose two breeds to study and then created a new breed themselves considering what the new animal might look like.

The children in Kites took to the playground to take part in a game of hockey, concentrating on developing their dribbling skills throughout the session.

This week the children in Oaks and Aspen have been getting used to not having to walk so far when they need to go to the toilet. The new building works have included toilets downstairs, just to the left of the downstairs cloakroom next to the new staffroom.

Year Five have been writing their own fantastic versions of famous ancient myths throughout the week and today used the laptops to type finished versions. They focused on including a wide range of punctuation marks and so, to help them to remember, they read their stories using the technique of ‘Kung-fu Punctuation’ where each mark has a corresponding energetic action. In Sycamores  the children continued to make their papier mache pots by adding layers of newspaper and sticking them with a PVA glue mixture.
