Our focusing on expectations at lunchtime continued today as the children were encouraged to use their knives and forks by the Midday Assistants whilst enjoying the delicious roast chicken dinner cooked by Mrs Warren-Hardy and her merry crew. Today the children were joined in the dining hall by a host of teachers, all enjoying their lunch. Mr Geach was joined by some well behaved Year two pupils at the adult table before the teaching team from Year Four took to the table to eat with more children that they had spotted displaying fantastic manners. Finally at the end of the lunch break Mr B enjoyed his lunch, once again joined by children who had been particularly polite.

Throughout the rest of the day the children in Year One took part in their ‘Forest Friends’ session where they took part in some activities centred around the RSPB ‘Big Birdwatch’ event. The children made bird feeders out of pieces of fruit and seeds, and pine cones fill with fat. The children also made their own giant birds nests out of twigs, leaves and sticks and researched birds using books and sketch books. The children enjoyed sitting under the new parachute shelter which, having been cleverly constructed by Mrs Mellish and Miss Chandler, provided shelter from the weather.

Out on the field the children enjoyed a smashing Tag Rugby lesson with Mr smith whilst, back inside, Mr B enjoyed listening to more readers; today from Robins.
