It was a proud day for our governing body today as two of our governors spent the whole day in school monitoring our curriculum. Mrs Eshmade and Mrs Irwin started the morning talking to a group of children from Year Six, Year Four and Year Three about the learning that they have been involved in and some of the curriculum enrichment activities that they have been involved in. They also watched Badgers take part in a ‘Kalma Kids’ session before spending time in the Foundation stage and discussing how we aim to improve our curriculum even further with Mrs Crouch. It was a busy day for both ladies, thank you for giving us your time.

Meanwhile, outside, the children in Year Two spent their ‘Forest Friends’ sessions tending the woods. Some children used rakes and loppers to trim and clear debris from the trees whilst others practised their hammering skills using golf tees and pumpkins. Elsewhere in the woods, some children created their own musical instruments using natural objects such as sticks whilst others created their own ‘Gods Eye’ hanging ornaments using poppy coloured wood and sticks which they hung from the trees.

In the evening the downstairs hall played host to the first of our two calculations meetings for parents, today for parents of children in Foundation Stage and KS1, where Mrs Crouch and Mrs Joyce talked through and demonstrated some of the strategies we use to teach Maths in class.
