It was a fun and busy day for the children in the Foundation Stage today. The morning began with all of the children taking part in activities which aimed to improve their handwriting. Some children worked with adults to form letters in books whilst others worked independently practising pattern formations. Some children developed their pincer grips by using tweezers to pick up dry pasta or by creating bead pictures. Later in the morning some children in Dormice continued to show an interest in royalty, having seen members of the royal family attend the remembrance services at the weekend on the interactive whiteboard. Some children chose to create their own royal palaces and castles whilst others created their own crowns by cutting and sticking in the creative areas. In Robins Jacob shared a boat that he had made and this inspired other children to use the creative area to also make their own using junk modelling. The children then decided to see if their boats would float using water trays. It was a busy morning which all the children enjoyed.

There was plenty of cuddling activity in school today as we were visited by the lovely Mrs Geach and baby Gennaro! Baby Geach was beautifully behaved as he was passed around cooing adults in the staffroom before he was taken to various classes to meet the children. Former Midday Assistants, and Earls hall legends, Mrs Hunter and Mrs Brown came along to meet our latest Earls Hall baby and it was lovely to see Gennaro and Mrs Geach both looking so well.

Later in the afternoon, Mrs Cook continued to teach children from across KS2 the flute whilst the children in Hawks investigated healthy balanced diets and created posters about the food groups in teams.
