It was a busy day for the children in 6M today! Throughout the morning groups of the class went and spent time with Gordon, Geraldine and Gerald in the goat enclosure. The goats were feeling playful and curious, loving the attention from the children, and our farm hands were very helpful whilst with them.  Later in the day, the class took to the field in order to carry out their cross country timed runs. The children completed a fantastic 1500 metres and all tried their very best with some impressive times being recorded.

Meanwhile, the children in Elm took part in a smelly and wet science investigation. The children recreated the digestive system using every day equipment. Scissors and cups were incisors and molars, a plastic bag was the stomach and a pair of tights represented the intestine. The children added water for saliva and orange juice for digestive juices to a meal of banana and crackers and then were amazed as it worked its way through the digestive system!

In Year Five the children read and then acted out poetry whilst, in Year Four, the children wrote diary entries as if they were Shakespeare’s Juliet.

In Hawks, the children made their own Spring baskets whilst, outside in the woods, the children in Badgers looked for signs of Spring in their Forest Friends session.
