It was a fantastic start to the week for a group of girls from Year Six today as they represented Earls Hall at the inter-schools netball tournament. Coached by the ever enthusiastic Miss Patching, and supported by Mr Gordon, the girls played five games altogether and their talent and team spirit was clear to see! the team drew their first game, won three and lost one meaning that they are now through to the last eight schools in Southend and will take part in the finals in April. It was a brilliant morning of effort all round. well done girls, we are proud of you!

Meanwhile, back in school, the children in Foundation Stage enjoyed a morning of outdoor fun as they explored the back wooded area of the field in  Forest Friends session. The children crested their own kites and whirlers which they tested in the breeze and also investigated the woods to collect and arrange sticks and logs.

Inside, as a group of children from Kites helped Miss Kelly look after the animals, the children in Year Five had a busy day as they measured angles in maths before investigating performance poetry in English. Later in the day the children in Sycamore investigated emergency situations and learnt all about the recovery position, placing each other in it whilst working in pairs.

After school the children in Puppet Club created their own jellyfish puppets using paper and collage techniques.
