It was another busy day in school. The morning saw Mrs Rick enter school with a very special delivery as the tropical fish finally arrived to take up residence in the fish tank. Children throughout the day stopped to count them and marvel at how quickly they sped around their new environment. Children from across the school will be chosen tomorrow to have the responsibility of feeding them each day.

The morning also saw Mr B lead some singing sessions in each of the Foundation Stage classes with his guitar. He taught the children ‘5 Little Speckled Frogs’ and chose five children from each class in turn to take on the roles of the bouncing frogs on the logs.

The afternoon saw more of the school council elections taking place. In the Key Stage Two classes the children wrote manifestos stating what qualities they felt they had to carry out the prestigious role and shared ideas of how they would want to improve the school.

Meanwhile the children in Aspen worked with Mrs Gorbutt to investigate invasions of Britain in the past, a lesson which saw the children identify what made our island so appealing to invade in the first place.

At the end of the day parents of children in Year One joined their children in the downstairs hall if they had achieved an attendance of 95% or above in the Summer term. the parents and children were treated to a powerpoint of the pupils all enjoying school before being presented with certificates for their efforts.
