FANTASTIC PHOTOGRAPH!

The whole school took part in a truly memorable event this morning when the whole primary community was captured on the field in the form of a massive school photograph.

The weather this morning was wet and wild but by the time it was time for the photograph the sky had cleared and there was even a spot of sunshine visible.

Throughout the morning a huge scaffold was erected on the field and as the clock struck eleven it was ready for the children to take their places on it. The entire school was arranged in height order resulting in the longest queue around the perimeter of the field imaginable.

One by one the children were placed in front of the camera with some of the children sitting on the ground whilst others stood still on the scaffold. The adults from school joined them and when the photographer said so everybody smiled and said cheese!

The whole process took a long time, with two separate photographs being taken, and by the time it was finished it was lunchtime.

For the children in Foundation stage it was also their first full day in school so was a rather strange experience!

In the afternoon life in school returned to normal. The Foundation stage children used the indoor and outdoor areas, exploring the decking area and all it had to offer whilst Rabbits began creating their new role play area by drawing round Mr b to paint a giant for their castle.

Children in Willows studied symbols found on maps and created their own charts of them whilst Sycamore pupils wrote about people who inspired them and investigated what the word faith meant to them.

All in all it was a busy day but hopefully one that everybody will remember for a long time to come!
