It was an exciting day for a team of children in KS1 today as they represented the school at this years Southend Tag Rugby competition. Hosted by Southend Rugby Club, the afternoon saw the children play against a series of other teams from schools across the city and every child gave their all in each and every game. By the end of the afternoon the children had played three games against West Leigh, Thorpe Hall and Our Lady of Lourdes and came away having gained three tries. It was a fun afternoon which all of the children enjoyed. Well done children, we are proud of you!

Meanwhile, back in school, the children in Sycamore took part in a hypothetical debating session where they discussed whether school uniform should be banned. The children showed respect for each others opinions, even if they were different to their own, and spoke through their thoughts clearly whilst happy to extend their opinions further through questioning.

As the children in KS1 ended their day with a singing assembly, after school more of our extended schools held their first session. Some children took part in a ‘Bricks 4 Kidz’ session whilst, outside, Miss Chandler welcomed parents to work alongside their children in the woods as part of our ‘Family Forest Friends’ club. The children and adults worked together in order to construct some pretty impressive dens which were big enough to fit both children and grown ups in. Meanwhile, Mr Cole held another Star Sports football club whilst Miss Patching put children through their paces in tennis club.
