First Day for Foundation!

It was an exciting day today for our Foundation Stage team as they welcomed the first group of children for their first day of school! Robins, Dormice and Hedgehogs each had the first group of children in school for the morning and each day this week they will be joined by more of their classmates until the whole class has started. Today the children got to know their teachers and explored their classrooms before venturing out to see other parts of the school. The children all visited Mr B ‘s office and met George the tortoise before saying hello to the goats, ducks and chickens. There was plenty of time to play and a great time was had by all. It was lovely to see the children and we cannot wait until we have three full classes of little learners!

Meanwhile, in our two KS2 assemblies, Mrs Crouch and Mr B both spoke to the children about our Earls Hall qualities, the qualities which we look for all of our children to display in order to make them the best people that they can be. In our KS1 assembly, Mrs Stokes talked to the children about adopting a growth mindset and, with the help of some volunteers, gave examples of real situations where both children and adults had seen the benefits of changing from a closed mindset to a growth mindset.

As the children in Year One enjoyed taking part in continuous provision activities both inside and outside, the children in Sycamore took part in an experiment where they tested absorbency in materials.
