Our week continued to be a fun and busy one as the children got stuck into a range of activities throughout the day!
The children in Foxes used the laptops to type their own sentences on Microsoft Word, having previously included them in stories, whilst the children in Oaks worked in the IT suite to include hyperlinks in their own ‘Charlie & the Chocolate Factory’ powerpoints.
In the Foundation Stage the children wrote stories from their imagination. The adults helped them with some of the trickier words whilst they independently used sound mats and knowledge of letters and sounds to have a go at writing the rest. Later in the day the children enjoyed another ‘Numbertime’ session where they developed their understanding of place value, number recognition and one to one correspondence.
In the upstairs hall the room rang with the sound of laughter as the children in Elm enjoyed a PE warm up game of ‘Sharks’, led by Mr Martin, before working in groups to compose their own clockwork and robotic dance routines.
In Sycamore the children investigated Chinese New Year whilst 6C developed their spelling skills with impressive results.
The children in Kites had a fun session creating their own fossils using clay and plaster of paris. They imprinted shells and rocks into the base of their clay pot before pouring in the wet plaster. Once set, the children will pull out the dry plaster to reveal a fantastic fossil!
