It was a fantastic start to our shortened week in school for the children in Hedgehogs as they were joined in the hall by a host of proud parents and other family members, all keen to see them perform a wonderful animal themed dance routine! The children from across the whole Foundation Stage have all been learning a dance routine to accompany the Lion King classic track, ‘I just can’t wait to be King’ and so today, whilst wearing animal headbands, the children in Hedgehogs were the first to line up in the hall and perform their routine. The children all tried their very best and were given a round of applause at the end by the parents. Thanks to all of the family members who came along to show their support. Well done children, we are proud of you!

Earlier in the day, as the children in Oak enjoyed exploring the African drums under the pagoda, the children in Squirrels enjoyed a PE lesson on the field with Mr Crooks. Over in the back forest area, the children in Foxes enjoyed exploring micro-habitats, searching underneath logs and branches for mini-beasts.

In Sycamore, the children have been learning about Typography designing their own fonts. This afternoon they applied the skills which they have learnt to their 3D map making. The children were designing and making 3D maps to represent Kensuke’s Island from their class text, Kensuke’s kingdom by Michael Morpurgo.
