It was the end of the first half term of 2019 today and Earls Hall began the day celebrating the efforts of individual children in each class in our two ‘Celebration Assemblies’. In the assemblies Mr B and Mr Geach also presented certificates for times table and reading race efforts. Well  done to all of the children rewarded today, we are proud of you!

In the afternoon the children in Year Five took part in recognised training with the team from ‘Dementia Friends’. The children learnt all about the medical reasons why people live with the condition, the challenges it brings people and how to respond to people when they display symptoms of dementia. It was a very mature subject and the children behaved sensibly in order to complete their training. Thank you to the team for their time and well done to all of the children for completing the training.

At the end of the afternoon there was fun in the Foundation Stage as they enjoyed playing in the Early Years garden, particularly on the mud hill, whilst Mrs Irwin, one of the school governors, met with this weeks ‘Learning Ambassadors’ from each KS1 and KS2 class in order to hear all about the learning which has been taking place across the school. Well done to the ambassadors, we are proud of you. Meanwhile Mr B was delighted to listen to children read in his office, today from Woodpeckers. Well done children, Mr B was thrilled to hear you read so beautifully!

After school two teams of boys from Years Five and Six represented the school in two friendly matches against teams from St Marys CofE Primary. The children represented the school beautifully with one team winning 4-0 and the other drawing 1-1. Well done children, we are proud of you.
