DANCEMANIA!

The day was another busy one in school, both at home and off site. The morning started with 6B venturing off site to Garons where they represented Earls Hall at this years inter-schools Southend Dance Festival.

The class performed a dance routine which began with the children acting out the roles of various toys to the ‘Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy’ from The Nutcracker. Each group in turn was brought to life by the fairy and sprang into action, moving their bodies to recreate toy soldiers, teddy bears and clockwork toys.

The children then surprised the audience with a modern twist as they danced a polished routine to Justin Timberlakes ‘Cant stop the Feeling’. The class had worked really hard on their routine prior to the festival. Thanks to Miss Brooker for her choreography skills and well done to all of our fantastic dancers.

Elsewhere, back at school, the magical grotto continued to receive visitors. Today the children from across KS2 took turns to visit Father Christmas who had once again taken time out of his busy schedule to pop into Earls Hall.

Meanwhile, in Year Two, the children began making their own Christmas cards before joining Year Three to watch a dress rehearsal of the Year Four Production. The audience loved the performances of the older children and were full of praise for the show when they returned to class. Year Five and Six get their chance to watch the show tomorrow.

In Year Five the creative juices were flowing as the children made their own Greek plates. the children researched different examples of them using the internet and then adorned paper plated with line drawings of some of the Greek Gods and legends.
