The start of the new half term at Earls Hall saw the children in Hawks using their abilities to be historians in order to create their very own chocolate timeline! The class are currently studying the many works of Roald Dahl and, having discovered in one of his books that he particularly loved chocolate, they used their understanding of chronological order in order to create a timeline of chocolate before using the same skills to create timelines of his books, life events. They investigated the different ways that historians find out about the past and focused on archeology before using tooth picks to excavate chocolate chips out of cookies.

Meanwhile, as the children in Oak enjoyed their first swimming lesson of the week over at the pool, the children in Hedgehogs used their Forest Friends session to investigate the woods for signs of Autumn.

As the children in Owls developed their measuring skills, the children in 6M went out onto the playground in order to enjoy their first lesson of a block on basketball.

At the end of the day, the children in KS1 enjoyed a singing assembly where they sang in unison, incorporating a series of actions to go along with the words. In the assembly Mr B introduced the children to a new member of the team. Mrs Nicholls will be working in the Cabin in the mornings and supporting the children in Year Two in the afternoons.
