It was a ‘badgetastic’ end to the first half term of the year as our ‘Celebration Assemblies’ saw us award badge after badge to tens of dozens of children! As usual we spent time in the assemblies recognising the reading efforts and achievements of children as groups of pupils from each class were presented with bronze ‘Reading Champions’ badges in recognition of the fact that they had read over twenty five times at home.

Today we also presented badges to members of our various new councils after their successes in the democratic elections a few weeks ago. Class representatives were presented with badges for their roles on the school council, sports council, green team, science ambassadors and fairtrade council. All councils will take part in their first meetings the week after the half term break. Well done to all of the children presented with badges of one kind or another in assembly today, we are proud of you!

Also in the assemblies we presented one child from each class with an ‘Earls Hall Stars’ certificates for individual achievement or effort. There were some shining examples today of children who have been promoting the Earls Hall qualities in class. Well done children we are proud of you!

The morning saw the entrance to the school outside Mr B’s office bursting with donations for the PTA Christmas Fair as the children took part in the dress down day. In return for being able to come to school dressed in whatever outfits they wanted to wear the children brought in prizes and goods for the fair and the donations came flooding into school in their hundreds! Thanks to everyone who donated and thanks also to the PTA volunteers who gave us their time to sort them.

At the end of the afternoon the weeks ‘Learning Ambassadors’ met with Mr Genovese and Mrs Wilson, two of our school governors, where they told them all about the learning which has been taking place across the school throughout the week. Well done children, we are proud of you!
