Chase & Champions!

It was a hot but fun end to the week for the children in Year Five as they spent the day experiencing life at Chase High. Accompanied by a team of staff from school, the children were treated to a science show which covered lots of exciting investigations ranging from elephants toothpaste to static electricity. The children were treated to some KS3 PE as they played football and dodgeball on the schools astro-turf and programmed Bit-Bots in a KS3 IT lesson. It was a great insight into the wonders of life at secondary school and all of the children had a great time. Thanks to all of the team at Chase for their hard work.

Meanwhile, back in school, the children in Foundation Stage and KS1 took part in the annual sponsored bounce. Each child was challenged to bounce as many times as possible on the bouncy castle with Sasha from Year two being crowned the children’s champion with a magnificent 130 bounces and Mrs Sterling winning in the adult competition with an impressive 116. Well done to all of the children for taking part, to the Year Four helpers for counting and to the lovely Mrs Anderson for once again arranging the event. All money raised will go towards the purchasing of our new Forest Friends living roof enclosure. Thanks to the team at Jolly Kids Castles, Southend, for providing us with a castle free of charge for the day.

In school, there was much excitement in Robins as the children were joined by the guinea pigs for the day. The children learnt how to care for Popcorn, Lilac and Saffy and enjoyed having lots of cuddles throughout the day. Meanwhile, in Year Six, the children were joined by representative from Southend United who taught them valuable lessons in personal safety.

It was once again a special day for many as we held our ‘Celebration Assemblies’ and rewarded children fro their individual effort and achievement by presenting our ‘Earls Hall Stars’ certificates to a chosen child in each class. We also presented our times table postcards and our badges and medals to our latest Reading Champions. Well done to all of the children presented in assembly today, we are proud of you all!
