There may be only a few days left of the term but life at Earls Hall was as busy as ever today! The morning began with the downstairs hall being full of proud parents and other family members as we rewarded our final ‘Reading Champions’ of the academic year in a special assembly. Mr B was helped by members of the team to present badges of all levels and a host of medals in recognition of children reaching ‘Ultimate Reading Champion’ status! Well done to all of the children rewarded today, we are proud of you!
Straight after the assembly the field played host to our rescheduled Foundation Stage and KS1 ‘Sports Day’. The weather was perfect as the children from all classes represented their houses in a series of races. The scores were added onto the totals of the KS2 day, which took place on Thursday, and everyone tried their best when taking part. There were parents and toddlers races before the whole school gathered out on the field to hear which house had won. Well done to all in Arundel who triumphed this year with an amazing 5060 points! Thanks to everyone who joined us for such an enjoyable morning.
Meanwhile, the children in Sycamore enjoyed a more tranquil morning as they decided to spoil the lovely Mrs Dolman as she prepares to retire at the end of the term after seventeen dedicated years of service to Earls Hall. As Mrs Dolman is a tennis fan, the children treated her to a class tournament whilst she was the guest of honour. Mrs Dolman was then treated again at lunchtime as the team laid on a buffet in her honour and presented her with flowers and presents. Thank you Mrs Dolman for all of your years of hard work!
In the afternoon the upstairs hall was throbbing to the sounds of the latest tunes as the children in KS2 enjoyed an end of term disco! Dressed to impress, the children enjoyed the DJing skills of Mickey B and took part in a number of games and dance offs.
After school Mickey B joined the children in Year six on the field as they enjoyed their leavers disco. Again there were plenty of fresh moves on show as the children danced to their favourite songs as well as a series of throwback hits from the 90s. An ice cream van provided refreshments for everyone and a great time was had by all! What a fantastic way to end their time at Earls Hall!
