It was a busy day for the children in Owls as they spent their Forest Friends session continuing to work around the theme of castles! In the classroom, the children had previously designed and created their own castles out of cardboard boxes and today they used a whole different set of skills to create more castles outside.

Working in groups, the children constructed castle walls, turrets and even draw bridges out of logs, sticks, wooden creates and rope. Each and every castle was unique with some being created on a small scale for small world play whilst others were made big enough to fit the children themselves in.

Meanwhile, back inside, as Mrs Creak and Mrs Dixon hosted this weeks OPAL assemblies centred around resolving conflict strategies, the children in Foundation Stage enjoyed a numbertime session. Some children created number and colour patterns whilst others ordered numbers or matched a value to a numeral. There was also time to explore shapes and a good time was had by all!
