It was a great start to the new year at Earls Hall! The children started the term by taking part in the first of our Mindful Monday sessions. The sessions, at the beginning of the day, allowed the children to settle into class smoothly by taking part in a series of activities which promoted mindfulness and ensured that any anxieties about starting a new week in school were eased before starting their learning. Each class welcomed the children into school with relaxing music and gave the children the opportunity to gently start their morning. The fact that the rest of the day was so settled and purposeful proved that the first session was a great success. More details about the sessions will feature in our next newsletter.
It was also an exciting day for the school pool as we launched our new partnership with Aqua Aims. The team at Aqua Aims now have exclusive letting use of the pool outside of school hours and in return have invested their own funds into updating some of the facilities. The changing rooms have been spruced up with a deep clean and a fresh lick of paint whilst individual changing cubicles have been built for those children who wish for a little more privacy when getting changed. The toilets have been modified and a new shower has been installed at the poolside along with benches. The whole pool area has also benefitted from a deep clean meaning that the start of the new year has seen the pool feel as good as new. Luke and Mia, our Head Boy and Girl, were the first to visit the pool this morning and gave the fresh new look a big thumbs up.
Meanwhile, as the children in Year Two were exploring wheels and axles and holding a range of poses in PE, Mr Crooks worked with some of the children from Year Six in training for their indoor athletics skills. After school, there was an animal theme across the drawing clubs with some fantastic works of art being created by the children!
