Awesome Artists!

It was an artistic day today at Earls Hall as many children across the school showed off their creative flairs!

Throughout the day, the children in Badgers were inspired by the work of Andy Goldsworthy as they enjoyed a day of Forest Friends. The children studied his work and then, having scavenged in the woods for leaves, used them to create collaborative pieces around the fire pit. In spite of the rain, there was also time to build dens and shelters as well as the opportunity to develop their tool use by hammering into pumpkins.

Meanwhile, inside, the children across Year Five were inspired by the work of Bob Ross and, having seen him demonstrate how to paint landscapes with depth, used water colour paints to create their own with some stunning results. There was more painting on display downstairs in Woodpeckers as the children created their own colour wheels independently.

In the afternoon, the children in Kites developed an understanding of the human heart whilst the children in Hawk imported photos that they had taken into ‘Photo Story’ to create a story about Flat Stanley with a partner. There was plenty of love for books on show as the children in 6M used the library whilst the children in Elm enjoyed reading for pleasure.
