It was a day full of dancing at Earls Hall today as all of the children from across the school took part in our fantastic sponsored ‘Dance for DT’ day! Throughout the day, each year group spent time in either one of our halls where they danced continuously for over half an hour with each other to a series of tunes. Some of the dances were directed for the children to follow on the big screen in each hall whilst others allowed the children to strut their stuff in a more freestyle manner and there were some amazing moves on show from both children and adults! Each child was provided with a sponsor form prior to the event and, thanks to the generosity of our community, it looks as though the children’s efforts will have raised hundreds of pounds to spend on non statutory design and technology equipment, meaning all children will get more and more opportunities to explore life skills such as cooking and sewing beyond their usual National Curriculum lessons. Thank you to the DT team for arranging such a fun day and to the children for working up a sweat with their moves!

Meanwhile, outside, the children in Rabbits and Woodpeckers used their Forest Friends sessions to continue to explore their senses. Focusing on smell, the children collected natural resources such as grass, petals and leaves which they mixed together in order to make their own scents for each other to smell.

On the field, as the children from Kestrels developed their long distance running skills, the children in Kites played games of quick cricket and the children in Robins developed their racing skills on the straight track.
