It was a special afternoon for a group of children from 6CW today as they took part in our latest ‘Acts of Kindness’ (AOK Club) mission! Accompanied by Mr B and Mrs Stoneman, the children visited Crowestone House which is an assisted living residential home for senior citizens. At the home the children met with Julie, the activities manager, who introduced them to the residents. They then spent time chatting with a number of the ladies and gentlemen who live at the home, comparing stories about their experiences of school and even learning how to knit alongside them. Many of the residents live with dementia and so the children had already been briefed on the condition and how it impacts those who live with it prior to attending the mission. The children were respectful and acted as wonderful representatives of the school throughout their visit and we were proud to present them with their badges at the end of the afternoon. Thank you to Julie and all of the team and residents at the home for making us feel so welcome. Well done children, we are proud of you!

Meanwhile, back in the school, as some children from Robins got to know George the tortoise and children from Elm cared for the goats, thew children in 6M became graphic designers for the afternoon! The children studied a range of food packages which they used for inspiration for creating their own designs.

As the children in Willow enjoyed spending time in their cosy new reading corner, there was plenty of sport taking place outside. The children in Hawks developed their ball skills, both by shooting through the hoops and dribbling with the hockey sticks, whist the children in Kites took to the playground to play tennis. Earlier in the morning children from across KS2 had started their day potting balls at snooker club.
