It was another busy day at Earls Hall and a creative one for some of the children in the Foundation Stage! Some of the children in Robins used empty boxes in order to show off their imaginative flair. They worked together to cut out eye holes of some boxes in order to transform themselves into robots and transformed one of the larger boxes into a ‘robot rocket’ which they sat in and navigated their way through the stars in. Meanwhile, in Hedgehogs, one of the children showed an interest in fossils and this inspired a group of our youngest learners to use the playdough in order to create their own. All the while their creativity was accompanied by music as other children decided to experiment with a series of percussion instruments. Outside in the Early Years garden there was fun being had in the water tray and, on the decking, the children used action figures and toy cars to act out their own stories.

In Forest Friends, the children in Kestrels worked together in order to investigate a series of habitats which a range of minibeasts called home. The children used magnifying glasses to look at snails, woodlouse and spiders and were fascinated by all of the nooks and crannies which they found them in.

Whilst the children in Badgers enjoyed a fun PE lesson on the field and groups of Year Three visited the goats, the children in Year Six continued to write dramatic pieces based on their class text ‘Kensuke’s Kingdom’ and the children in Sycamore ended their day playing ‘heads down, thumbs up’ before a couple of children entertained them by demonstrating ‘the worm’.
