It was another full day at Earls Hall today! The morning saw the children who were in school meet up with their new teachers for next September. Due to still working within the pandemic, the meetings took place outside where the children played games with their new teachers in order to get to know them. Where classes are mixing next year into new class arrangements, the children played team games so that their current bubbles did not mix. The morning also saw the return of Mrs Howard from her maternity leave as she met with the children who will be based with her in the new cabin provision next year. It was a great morning and gave the children a glimpse into the future so that they can be prepared for September. All children will receive a transition social story to look at over the Summer holidays.

Later in the day, as the children in Hedgehogs enjoyed another session over in the pool, the children in Elm got to grips with some shopping tasks! The children selected items from a Tesco food catalogue to plan for a certain number of guests.  They had to make sure that everyone would have enough to eat and of course stay within a budget.

Outside, the children in Hawks learnt about bees in Forest Friends where they performed a drama about the jobs of various types of bees around a hive. They identified various bees in the area and thought about what we can do to help them survive. The children then made bees from wool as well as obstacle courses whilst there was also fun to be had on the rope swing and time for tree climbing using rope.

In Sycamore the children used their DT lesson into take part in a taste-testing lesson this afternoon. The children were challenged to evaluate different salads against a criteria before some groups walked Mabel around the field. Meanwhile, it was a hive of activity in Oak as the children spent the afternoon developing their long house models.
