It was another day of wonderful effort and achievement for sport at Earls Hall today as a group of children from across KS2 represented the school at the Thorpe Hall cross country competition. The weather conditions were dreadful at times but this did not deter our runners from adopting a growth mindset and giving the competition their very best. All the runners represented the school brilliantly, with the Year four boys and girls and the Year six boys coming an overall first place! A run down of all the runners placings will feature in this weeks newsletter. Well done to all of the children, we are proud of you!

Meanwhile, back in school, the children in Kites enjoyed a creative afternoon as they created their own leaves out of clay. The children used a range of tools and mark making techniques to recreate their 2D drawings of leaves, complete with their various patterns, in clay.

Downstairs in Year Two the children’s party planning skills came to fruition as they held a birthday party for Goldilocks. The children created and played games, made banners and cards and spent time writing birthday messages for her. The parties went with a bang and a great time was enjoyed by all!

In the Foundation Stage the children were convinced that the changeable weather outside would lead to them seeing rainbows but, even though none appeared, they decided to paint some of their own anyway- arching the array of colours using paints independently.
