There was lots of fun for the children in Year four today as they took part in a special Forest Friends session out of the front of the school!

The children started the session playing a memory game. They had to follow a trail of natural objects around the woods and then remember as many items as they could in limited amounts of time by applying memory strategies in pairs.

Later in the session the children used tools to whittle Elder into Roman swords and made mud pots in preparation for next weeks Roman themed trip.

As part of the session the children also worked in groups to look at art work by Andy Goldsworthy and then made pictures using the Autumn palette whilst groups of children ventured over to the allotment to harvest squashes. It was a fantastic session which saw the children all enjoying learning outside again.

Meanwhile, inside the school, the children were all spruced up in order to have their photographs taken as individuals and the children in Willow took part in a solubility experiment using various liquids in science.
