It was an exciting end to the first week back at Earls Hall today as we celebrated the amazing reading efforts of children from across the school! In our celebration assemblies, children were presented with their silver, gold and platinum ‘Reading Champions’ badges before we presented badges and medals for the children who had earnt the titles of ‘Ultimate Reading Champions’, having read an incredibly impressive 250 times at home this academic year!  With the support of their parents the children had strived day after day to improve their reading and so it was a proud moment when the children were presented with their rewards. We also presented our ‘Earls Hall Stars’ certificates to individual children from each class in recognition of their efforts and achievements in class. Well done to all of the children presented with certificates, badges and medals today, we are so proud of you!

Meanwhile, as Miss Kelly was joined by groups of children from Dormice and Rabbits who helped her look after the farm animals, it was a busy day over in the pool as Mr Knight hosted fun swim sessions for the children who represented the school so beautifully at the recent Southend schools swimming gala. In recognition of their efforts on the day the children were treated to a session where they played with the floats and inflatables and a good time was had by all. There was more swimming action in the afternoon as the children from Squirrels took to the water to take part in a lesson and the children from Dormice visited the pool in preparation for their first lessons which take place next week.

In the afternoon, the field was full of activity! As the children from Year Three took part in PE lessons, Mr Gordon and Mr Crooks worked with groups and individuals who are representing the school in next weeks borough sports competition in order to develop their skills in their chosen events.
