It was a stunning end to the half term for the children in Year Three as they created a fantastic end to their enquiry curriculum block of work by becoming curators of their own Stone Age museums! Having been taught key facts about the period in their history lessons, and experiencing life in the age by visiting their own caves earlier in the term, the children have spent time over the pasty fortnight independently using the research skills taught to them in order to find the answers to their own questions about life in the Stone Age. This afternoon they set up their classrooms with a series of exhibitions which presented the answers to their questions and invited the children in Year Two along to share their learning. Some pupils had made games for the children to play whilst others gave them the opportunity reenact hunting for food, visit their own caves full of art on the walls or investigate fact files. Some children had even composed songs where the words relayed their findings. It was a brilliant end to what has been a highly enjoyable topic for the children.

Earlier in the day, the two halls hosted the last ‘Celebration Assemblies’ before the half term break where individual children from each KS1 and KS2 class were presented with ‘Earls Hall Stars’ certificates in recognition of their effort and achievements. Children wee also presented with reading and times table champions badges as a reward for their efforts. Well done to all of the children presented with badges or certificates today, we are proud of you!
