It was another lovely day at Earls Hall today! The children were so settled into their new classes that it feels as though we have never been away which is a simply smashing feeling!
The day started in KS1 with a singing assembly led by the lovely Mrs Critoph. Later, throughout the day, the children in Year Two donned their outdoor clothes and took to the ‘Forest Friends’ area at the front of the school. Once they had been reminded of how to stay safe whilst working outside the children took part in a series of games aimed at not only improving their team building skills but also their ability to listen and stop when needed when out in the woods. The children clearly enjoyed being outside once again and a great time was had by all.
There was more team building games taking place inside as the children in Kites took to the freshly decorated upstairs hall for the first time in the year. Mrs Howard demonstrated the skills needed to be a positive team member and then the children, having warmed up in a series of exercises, worked together to try and complete a series of physical challenges.
At lunchtime there were plenty of cuddles taking place in the staffroom as Mrs Heard visited school with baby Harry. Harry is now two months old and was showered with gifts and cards from the team in school.
In the afternoon the children in Year One took part in one of their daily ‘Letters & Sounds’ sessions before continuing to work on their bicycle investigation whilst the children in Year Two developed their estimation skills and counted in tens in Maths.
