It was a sporty start to the week today! The children in KS2 congratulated one of our pupils, Connor from Year Six, on a spectacular sporting achievement which took place at the weekend.

Connor represented Southend Diving in the White Rose competition in Leeds, a national competition where he competed against other divers from across the country. He competed really well in the competition completing a 12 dive circuit which involved dives from poolside, 1m and 3m springboard and qualified for the finals in 5^th place displaying some awesome diving.  Later on in the day, he then competed in the finals with the top 6 divers showcasing just 3 dives so there was no room for error.  Connor stepped up to the mark and competed 3 amazing dives to take the GOLD Medal!!  The children were amazed by his achievement and gave him a huge round of applause! Well done Connor, we are so proud of you!

Later in the day, the children from Year Two created their very own circuits of activity. they set the equipment up and explained how to use it to each other before taking turns to work their way around the exercise trails.

In 6C the children assessed themselves in different areas of sport. They completed a 70m sprint, a bounce ball activity, star jumps and a 400m run in order to see how they could improve in the future.
