Story Scenarios!

It was a dramatic day for many classes across the school today as the children continued to take part in their ‘Big Write’ project as part of their work preparing for World Book Day. In Dormice, the children worked with the adults to act out their own adventures with magic crayons whilst in 6CW the children worked in groups in order to act out key events in their stories which they then placed in a story mountain plan.

Meanwhile, the community room played host to the first day of our Mothers Day sales organised by our wonderful PTA. Various classes visited the sale where they were able to purchase gifts from between one and five pounds for the special ladies in their lives. There was a fantastic range of gifts available, thanks to all of the parents who gave the time to run the sale.

Whilst the children in Foxes planned their Big write stories and the children in Beech investigated the life cycle of a plant, our KS1 assembly focused on the importance of manners. Starting with the importance of saying please and thank you, the children thought of examples in their day when they could model politeness. Before the children ended the assembly by singing along with Mr B ‘s guitar, the children were taught how to use the phrase ‘after you’ or ‘ladies first’ when allowing someone to pass. It was a very positive assembly where the children thought of lots of examples of how to show how polite they can be.
