The day may have been showery at times but there were still plenty of opportunities for the children to get outside in the fresh air! The children in Rabbits enjoyed their Forest Friends session with Miss Chandler where they used binoculars in order to investigate signs of Spring. Meanwhile, out on the back playground, a group of children from Elm worked with Mr Dorn in order to take part in some ‘Sports for Confidence’ activities. They played team based games where there was a focus on including everyone in the game.

Meanwhile, in a separate area of the playground, the children from Kites focused on physical wellbeing by looking at what they put into our bodies and looking at the nutritional content of different foods. They talked about lots of foods being fine as treats but not being eat too much of certain foods. They then talked about gaining energy from food and burned off some of that energy through exercises in the playground. Also out in a separate area of the playground, Mr B worked with a group of children from 6M to tend the wellbeing gardens. The children weeded the beds before planting up some perennial plants for Spring. Out on the fled, throughout the day, different classes took part in cross country activities where they developed their ability to pace themselves over long distances.

Inside, the children in Sycamore dissected daffodils and learnt about the parts of a flower and their functions.  Later in the day they did observational drawings with daffodils.
