It was another amazingly exciting day for sport in school today as sixty four children from across KS2 represented Earls Hall at this years Borough Sports competition, once again held at Garons.

The competition saw our athletes pitted against the top talent from other schools across the borough in group one of the tournament. Competitors from Heycroft, Thorpe Greenways, Chalkwell, Alleyn Court, Fairways, Our Lady of Lourdes and West Leigh took part in a series of track and field events against our team and the standard of the children was high as usual.

On the track the children raced against others as individuals and in a series of relays whilst on the field the children threw and jumped their way through the afternoon.

As the results of the afternoon were tallied up there was a tense atmosphere. Earls Hall took third place on the field events and second place on the track events. It was then announced that there were only four points between first and second place overall before it was announced that Earls Hall were overall champions! It was a phenomenal achievement, the second year in a row we have won, and testament to the hard work the children have put into training for their various events. Well done to all of the children who took part and represented the school so brilliantly and, of course, to Mr Smith who continues to show such dedication to sport in our school. We are proud of you all!

Meanwhile, back in school, the children in both key stages were visited in assembly by the lovely Mrs Guilcher who came to deliver the massive amounts of books the school have purchased with their sponsored reading money. Thank you Mrs Guilcher for coming in to see us and well done to all of the children who took part.

After school, in Squirrels, Miss Holmes held another ‘Construction Club’ which saw the children build and construct a range of models using newspaper and tape, building blocks and Lego.
