SOCCER & SEWING!

There was a health and fitness theme taking place across the school today as the children settled down into another busy week of learning.

Mrs Creak led the KS2 assembly in the upstairs hall where she introduced the children to a ‘Healthy Eating Challenge’. Each child was given the opportunity to undertake the food challenges across the course of the week and each child from Years Three to Six came home with details of the competition after school.

In Woodpeckers the children went outside with Mrs Hewitt to develop their aiming skills. They used hula hoops to roll to each other with accuracy on the playground and then had to move in different directions in order to follow their tracks.

Meanwhile, in Owls, the spirit of Euro 2016 took hold as the children investigated the countries sending teams to the tournament on the laptops. The children used the internet to search for and enlarge the flags of each country and then shared their findings with each other.

In Year Six the children began the finishing touches to their Tudor cushions. Each cushion demonstrates a range of stitches and has been completed from the children’s original designs.
