It was another busy day at Earls Hall and one which saw the children in Year Four continued their learning through life in Africa. The children created a series of stunning backdrops by painting sunset washes before inserting silhouettes of animals onto them. Each class was a hive of activity as the children’s creative juices flowed!

Meanwhile, as the children in Sycamore investigated the life cycle of birds, in Year Three the children used their science session in order to investigate shadows inside and also in the playground. They used the sun on the playground and torches in the classroom to see how the shadows changed when the light source came from different directions.

It was an exciting day in Hedgehogs as the children continued to learn about how to care for pets by being visited by Louie the sphynx kitten! Prior to his visit, the children had prepared a series of questions to ask Louie’s owner focusing on his diet, habits, likes and dislikes and the children were enthralled as their questions were answered. The visit ended with each child gently stroking Louie in order to feel his unusual coat. There was more animal fun as a group of children from Foxes helped Miss Kelly look after the animals.

After school, the playground played host to Miss Patching’s tennis club whilst Mr Gordon and Mr Crooks held rounders club on the field.
