Sensational Science!

It was a sensational day for science fans at Earls Hall today as the whole school came together to take part in a series of fun and exciting experiments in celebration of our Science Day! Organised by the Science Ambassadors with the help of Mrs Bowden and Mrs Matteucci, the day saw each and every class in school follow a series of investigations with some messy, noisy and unexpected results. There were erupting volcanoes, senses experiments, minibeast investigations, forces challenges and many more lessons taking place which saw the children work in pairs and groups to challenge their thinking when it came to their understanding of the world around them.

At the end of the day, each class linked up with another class from a different year group where they took turns to explain some of the activities they had taken part in and what they had learnt as a result. It was a fantastic day which all of the children enjoyed. Thanks to all of the Science Ambassadors for their hard work, we are proud of you!

Meanwhile, throughout the day Mr B, Mrs C and a host of other key members of the team welcomed the parents of our new Foundation Stage classes who join us in September. The parents took part in a meeting where the team talked them through some key messages about the transition of their children into school and it was lovely to see a mixture of new and familiar faces in the audience. Thanks to everyone for coming, the adventure starts now!
