It was another busy day at Earls Hall today and one which saw the children in Willow take part in a fun Science investigation. The children were looking at the properties of materials and making predictions about how we could separate different mixtures. They then experimented trying to separate them and recorded their results, comparing them against their previous predictions.

Meanwhile, as the children from 6M enjoyed a ‘Bikeability’ session where they developed their cycling skills and the children in 6CW created their own shadow puppets, the children in Sycamore took part in a computing lesson on Online Safety.  All children watched a video about the topic and collaborated on a document with safety advice.

In the KS2 assembly, Miss Fitzgerald talked to the children about the European Day of Languages and introduced a fun new resource that they can access for languages. The resource is called ‘A Tantôt’ and is mainly intended to be used by teachers on an interactive whiteboard. However the children can use the school login and find some activities they can do at home. For example, they will find matching games, word searches and ‘noughts and crosses’. The KS2 activities can be very challenging so we do not recommend going beyond that level. Please do not share the login with anyone beyond Earls Hall. The children were really excited about the resource, thanks to Miss Fitzgerald for organising it for them to use.

In the afternoon, the downstairs hall played host to another session of ‘Rock Steady Workshop’ where bands of children developed their skills on the electric guitar, bass guitar, keyboard and drums whilst others perfected their vocal talents, ably assisted by band leader Simon. The sound of rock echoed out of the hall and was a brilliant way to end the afternoon!
