It was an interesting day for the children in Year Six today as the pupils took part in some ‘River Workshops’. The children identified rivers around the world on some enormous maps before investigating the history of many of the rivers in our local area. It was a great opportunity to develop their understanding of every aspect of rivers in a fun and hands on manner and a great time was had by all.

Meanwhile, in the downstairs hall, Mr Geach challenged the children in KS1 in a special assembly. The children have been learning about the adventures of ‘The Jolly Postman’ and identified all of the locations he has visited on his travels. At the end of the assembly the children were challenged to think of possible locations he could visit and then, back in the classroom, began thinking of questions they would need to find the answers to in order to plan his journey.

Whilst more children helped Mrs Cox look after the farm animals, the children in Kites began investigating bread. The children taste tested a range of breads and described and evaluated them. Outside on the playground the children in Willow used our super new basketball hoops to develop their throwing, passing and shooting skills.
